- Tires, cut into fourths (additional fee applies)
When in doubt, call before you drive over. We'd rather answer a question than turn away a truck.

- Whole tires (must be cut into fourths first)
- Wet paint, oil, fuel, and antifreeze
- Household hazardous waste and chemicals
- Batteries
- Electronic waste — TVs, computers, phones, and similar
- Medical or biohazard waste
Have something unusual? Ask — most items just need the right disposal path.
Asbestos isn't accepted at the transfer station
We can't take asbestos as a walk-in load here. If you need to dispose of it, rent a dumpster instead — it can be lined and used for asbestos only, following this protocol:
- Line the dumpster with 4-mil plastic sheeting, place the asbestos inside, then fully cover it with plastic.
- Or seal the asbestos in plastic bags before loading it.

Have recyclables or yard waste instead? The Wells County Recycling Center (702 West Wabash, (260) 824-4828) takes recyclables, and Bluffton's yard waste site on SR 124 East is open daily, 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM.

Do I need an appointment?+
No. Just pull in during business hours and an attendant will meet you at the scale.
How is pricing determined?+
You're weighed in and weighed out. Residential loads are priced by weight, and contractor loads are billed at a flat per-ton rate with a 1-ton minimum. See the rate schedule above, or call with questions about your specific load.
Can I bring a mixed load?+
Most general household and construction debris can be mixed. Asbestos is the one exception — we can't accept it as a walk-in load here. See the Accepted Materials section above for how to dispose of it instead.
What if I'm not sure my materials are accepted?+
Call us before you load up. We'd rather answer a quick question than have you drive out for nothing.
